You can get to the Canyon by turning off Ralston Ave. onto Cipriani Blvd., then left on San Juan Blvd. Follow San Juan to its end, where E. Laurel Creek Road starts (marked with a circle on the map). Park there and walk onto the gravel road. You can also enter off Marsten Ave., which you get to from Ralston Ave. via Christian Drive, near 92 (also marked with a circle). The dark lines on the map are trails. Nearly all of them are street rights-of-way, with the exception of a couple of short stretches which have been used for many years. This use may have resulted in "prescriptive easements" which give the public the continued right to use these trails. You can also access the Canyon via San Mateo's Laurelwood Park, on de Anza Blvd. On the south side of Ralston Ave. at the 92 interchange, there is a trail head that leads to Canada Road. The trail along Canada Road runs south to Woodside, and will eventually link to Sawyer Camp Trail to the north. |
